WASTE IS

NOT WASTE

UNTIL we WASTE IT

WHO WE ARE

Re’Store is a local initiative to combat textile and household waste. We not only help reduce waste but also create opportunities for designers and artisans to make a living out of donated items. This concept aligns with the principles of the circular economy, where resources are kept in use for as long as possible.

We would like to see household waste solutions being developed on a local level in every neighbourhood. We are developing a blueprint that can be rolled out to other areas. If you’d like to work with us or support our mission, please contact us.

OUR GOALS

Promote circularity in the home and encourage the repairing and repurposing of household items to create less waste.

Promote RE-USE, RE-PAIR and RE-PURPOSING as the default driver for growth of the local high street economy

Support the regeneration of our high street by developing ideas that will drive footfall and engage the local community.

Preserve and pass on the skills of talented craftspeople.

Boost the mental health and well-being of local people by offering crafting and community activities to alleviate the symptoms of anxiety, depression and loneliness.

Vision & Values

We are dedicated to repairing, reusing, restoring and reselling the things we already own

A report from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation said $500bn was being wasted each year because we aren't reusing, recycling or repurposing clothes well enough.

People often make the assumption that damaged or ill-fitted clothing should be disposed of and that donating old clothes saves them from landfill. However, a lot of items that are donated to charity shops get shipped overseas to other countries for them to deal with. But who is taking responsibility for the waste left by the used clothing trade in places like Ghana? There doesn’t seem to be a solution at scale to the fast fashion problem, so we all need to do our bit to reduce mindless consumption. We can do this by buying more consciously and reusing what is already in circulation.
